A leading provider in the care home sector consulted with Alexander Anderson on the provision of a redevelopment of the garden areas at it’s facility at St Margarets Court in Greenock. The objective was to provide a shallow graded path within an uneven area for residents to make their way to and from the buildings.
Engaging the services of a specialist groundworks contractor and that of a horticulture and arboreally specialist, works were undertaken to level an area where the path was to be constructed and to provide a fully finished landscape including a wide variety of plants and shrubs. The project required extensive planning and careful rerouting of drainage tracks and the removal and redistribution of significant quantities of soil and debris.
Rest seating became in an integral element of the project as did handrails for both able bodied and those wheelchair dependant. Our client expressed their delight at what has been achieved and residents look forward to enjoying their new garden and improved access in the coming months.
